W7B


I finally fixed the color space of my animation. I am working on the animation for the pin pop up but I just need to work on fixing the anchor point of the pin so that it is more fluid.

Week 7 Out Of Class: Animation Progress 75%

Here is my updated project. I cleaned up the animation path and added the animation of the G for google. I still need to fix the colors and possibly the mask to better align with the background.

Still working on fixing the color space and finding sounds to use for the final animation. I am also going to add a gradient to the edges of the grey to make it more clean.

Week 6 Out Of Class Progress

This is my progress so far with my google maps logo. I need to fix the color space, adjust the mask and clean up the animation. Additionally, I need to figure out how to do the beginning of my animation, to reflect what I have on my storyboard.

After I finalized my story board, I started to export things into after effects. I was originally going to animate by using multiple assets, but I decided to instead create a new asset and animate an alpha matte over it.

W6A

This week I continued to work on my and redo my story board to make it more clean. In my original story board, the aspect ratios of my frames were not correct. When I redid the story board, I also redid the time stamp and symbolic scoring.

W5B

I chose to animate the Google maps logo for my project because it will not only be easier but the NASA logo has already been animated. I also feel that I will still be able to create a meaningful animation with this logo.

W5A

In class today, I brainstormed which logo I would like to animate. My choices are between the NASA logo and the Google Maps logo.



With the NASA logo, I wanted to start off with the whole screen blue, and the vector stars twinkling subtly in the background. The NASA type would either be there already or fade and scale in. Next, one of the stars would come around and turn into a shooting star around the NASA type. Simultaneously, the red line would swoop in from the right side. Finally, the logo would scale to the way it is now, with the blue circle not filling the screen.

With this logo, I wanted to start with just the blue white and grey shapes showing. The green and yellow shapes will appear to illustrate the moving road. The G will animate in from the ground first turning a slightly darker green that the logo than emerging as white, as if the logo was coming out of the grass. Next a small red dot will appear and suddenly animate from the ground from up to a pin point. The darker red dot in the center of the pin will scale up.

W4B


This is my first attempt at animation my phrase. I wanted to convey both anxiety and calmness. Much like how you might feel when you are anxious about something that is going to happen the next day so you can't sleep, but are also exhausted.

Message in Motion

This is my final version of message in motion. I kept the same concept but I added a gaussian blur effect to some of the words to convey tiredness. I also fixed the part that says "a thousand pictures fill my head" to better emphasize the feeling of thoughts filling the head, while at the same time trying to create a cleaner animation.

Today, we didn't have class so we worked on finding a phrase to animate. The phrase I found is a quote from an Eric Whitacre choral song called "Sleep."

Upon my pillow safe in bed
a thousand pictures fill my head
I cannot sleep my minds aflight
and yet my limbs are made of lead.

Today we worked on an animation for the word rhythm and this is what I came up with. I wanted to keep it simple and convey simply the beat.

In class we worked on a new animation project. It is an exercise where we have to animate shapes to  a song from the drive. I chose the song I chose because I thought that the fast and sudden sounds would be interesting to bring to a visual medium

W2A

Today in class we went over our animation projects and had a critique. For the most part, people recognized my emotion or at least that it was a positive one. I think for the future I want to work on making my work cleaner. I am not very good at drawing so my animation was a little rough. Overall i'm happy with it, being that it was my first animation in the animate program.

For the homework, we are supposed to recall a dream we had in 300 words

I am having trouble remembering a specific dream that I have had. Especially in 300 words. Most of my dreams I will remember for a few minutes after I wake up then I forget.

Many of my dreams involve me not being able to see. I'm not sure why this is. Or I will be in one location and then it morphs into another and Im talking to one person and all the sudden they are another person or an animal of some sort. Many of my dreams are derived from thoughts I had in my subconscious throughout the day. I struggle with anxiety so I would often have dreams which involve people in my life being mad at me or something of that sort.

One dream I am starting to remember is that I was back in high school and my school was doing the musical Annie as our production for the year (which did happen in real life). In the musical I was cast as the mean orphanage director miss Hannagin. Immediately after being cast I was thrown on stage in front of a full audience and I didn't know any of my lines.

I cant remember any other details or dreams that I have had.

Today we worked on animations for emotions. We each chose an emotion and had to act it out in front of the class and each person had to guess what it was. The next thing we did was open adobe animate and using a line, animated out emotion. Each person will guess what each others emotions were in class on Monday, Based on their animations.

W1A

In the first day of class, we focused on a few activities based on motion and animation. The first was using a device to animate a series of drawings by spinning it. The second was less about animation and more about motion, with a focus on taking two objects that belong together and using motion (spinning the paper) to put them together. The rest of the class we went over class expectations and the syllabus.
